Our Festival Fringe week has been a massive success – a huge thank you to all our talented performers and artists, and to those of you who came out to see them!

Today is Friday 21st June, and our main programme starts now! Tonight the fabulous Mica Paris will sing her favourite Ella Fitzgerald songs with her jazz trio. There are still a few tickets left for this event so please contact the Box Office asap (there may also be tickets available on the door).

Tomorrow, Saturday 22nd, is Festival in the Square from 11am – 4pm. Starting with what is sure to be an eye catching procession, school children and members of the community will parade around the village with their handmade magical creature puppets, created under the guidance of local artists Carine Brosse and David Ashby (those taking part should meet in the YDNP carpark at 10.30am). Free live entertainment will fill Grassington Square all day, with enticing street performers and enthralling story-telling.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle or get out of the sunshine (we hope!) have a wander up to Hebden for Kris Thomsett’s organ recital at St Peter’s Church at 2.30pm.

Saturday night is Comedy Night – Ed Byrne and Friends will take to the Festival Hall stage from 8pm! The main event is now sold out, but get your hands on discounted tickets for the live relay screening in the Octagon theatre. Contact us for more info.

On Sunday 23rd the Festival’s annual Ecumenical Service will be held at 10am in the Festival Hall, all are welcome. Why not visit the farmers market afterwards, and then head to Linton Green for our Wonky Olympics!

Sunday night offers not one but TWO fantastic shows. Classical music fans will adore Borealis Choir at our Gala Concert at Bolton Abbey Priory (8pm start), and folkies are sure to enjoy The Young’uns Ballad of Johnny Longstaff at the Festival Hall.

We can now accept contactless and card payments on the festival bar, so no need for cash! (Please note the nearest cash machine is now at Spar in Threshfield. However during opening hours you can get cash from the Post Office on Grassington Main Street).

Parking is available at the YDNPA carpark (pay and display). For evening events, the overspill carpark above the Town Hall will be open – look out for signage.

There’s too much to write about everything going on in one blog post, but please check out all our web pages and our festival guide.

As always we’d love to hear your thoughts and see your experiences – please leave a comment, tag us on social media, visit our Facebook Page and drop us a review, or email admin@grassington-festival.org.uk

We hope to see you at an event this week!
