Organ Recital with Kriss Thomsett

Kris Thomsett, Assistant Director of Music at Newcastle Cathedral, offers a recital for both organ and voice. The organ music in the recital is aimed at demonstrating the versatility of the organ and will feature pieces spanning several centuries.

Opening the recital with works by Byrd and Gibbons, and culminating with works written in the twentieth century, Kris will perform a wide genre of pieces including the famous ‘Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” by J.S Bach. The vocal element of the recital will be music written for Countertenor, mainly comprising of music from the Baroque era, interspersed with English folk song.
